Recently, Professor Urs Belser visited us for the 2015 University of Bristol Dental Implant Masterclass on the 29th May 2015 at the Bristol Marriot Hotel, City Centre. In addition to the master-class, Tim Esau, principal of the Wotton under Edge practice, also attended an event where Professor Belser also kindly agreed to host an evening of “Questions from the floor” to precede the Masterclass on the 28th May. The evening allowed 20 ITI members to pose questions to arguably one of the most eminent authorities in the field of restorative implant dentistry.
Prof Dr Urs C. Belser is Guest Professor, Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology (Prof Dr D Buser), and Department of Fixed Prosthodontics (Prof Dr U Braegger), School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern.

His research activities are in the fields of implant dentistry, with special emphasis on aesthetics and latest developments in the field of CAD/CAM technology and high-performance dental ceramics, as well as on adhesive re-constructive dental medicine.
The 28th and 29th of May gave us a fantastic opportunity to spend a day with the world-renowned Professor Urs Belser. Having recently decided to reduce his lecturing and clinical commitments this Master-class was one of the few opportunities to hear this vastly experienced and respected clinician present his thoughts on a number of issues. The day covered a variety of current and controversial topics in implant dentistry with a special focus on the restorative aspects.
