NHS Appointments in Whitchurch

Please read on to learn more about NHS appointments for both adults and children.

100 more NHS places open to new patients

As we have increased our clinical hours so we’re delighted we can offer NHS dental care to 100 more adults and children.

This is possible because we’ve increased our team to two dental therapists. They are supported by two dentists who attend the practice regularly. We are now open on Saturdays and Sundays, and offer evening appointments on most weekdays.

Please get in touch as soon as you can as we expect the appointments to be taken up quickly. Fill in the form below and one of our team will be in touch.

Apply using the form below

We are only able to process applications submitted via the form below, not by phone, email or in person.

Don’t delay, as we expect places to fill quickly!

With only 100 new appointments available, we are opening this page to applicants for a 24hr period. If we are overwhelmed, we will need to close down this page sooner so administrative demands do not overwhelm our staff.

Please keep an eye on your email to check for messages (including your junk folder!).

Your appointment

During the week, new patients are assessed by our dental therapist, Abel Adeosun. A dentist with overseas qualifications, Abel has a wide range of skills, but the GDC restricts his Scope of Practice until he has the opportunity to sit Overseas Registration Examinations (ORE). We are delighted to add dental therapist Shyam Ganta to the team to provide Saturday appointments.

SpaDental dentist Aryaan Khalid visits SpaDental Whitchurch monthly to treat a small number of patients with more complex needs, such as extractions or crowns. SpaDental dentist Lucy Tupman, and Clinical Director, attends the practice regularly, paying special attention to patients requiring more complex endodontic treatment.

How to apply

Simply fill in the contact form at the end of this page and one of our staff will be in touch.

Your NHS Access:

Please be mindful of the demand nationwide for NHS dental appointments.

  • Always attend any appointment booked, or cancel the appointment more than 24 hours in advance.
  • Make sure you book your next dental examination before you leave the practice. Whether it’s three, six, nine or even twelve months in advance, our reception teams will help you make your next appointment, and send you reminders nearer the time as well.
  • Check and update your contact details. Be sure they are correct, especially your email address and mobile phone. If we can keep in touch with you, then we can help you keep on track so you don’t miss your appointment.
  • If you are caring for an older person, then help them by tracking their appointments with them.

Note:

    • SpaDental will remove patients from the practice’s NHS list for non-attendance.
    • Patients who have failed to attend one appointment are given a warning. Failure to attend the second appointment means that the patient cannot book any further appointments with the practice, including emergency appointments.
    • SpaDental practices that provide NHS treatment all have an extensive patient waiting list. We aim to schedule valuable clinical time to benefit all patients.

Recognising the need for children to be able to access NHS dental care, earlier this year we applied to increase the contingent of NHS funded patients we see. We are, therefore, pleased to offer even more appointment time to children 17 years of age or younger. 18 year olds may also apply if they are still in full time education.

We teach children how to keep their teeth healthy for life. We encourage children make healthy choices that help prevent more difficult and costly treatment later.

We are especially encouraging parents of children who have not seen a dentist before, or who have not been for a while, to book an appointment. We run dedicated Children’s Days and are also opening up our diary for child and teenager friendly slots after school. We will welcome babies and toddlers at times convenient for their schedule too.

Regular dental examinations make a lifetime of difference!

Meet our dental therapist

portrait pf dental therapist Abel AdeosunAlso a father of two lovely daughters, Abel Adeosun Abel is a dentist qualified overseas, currently registered as a dental therapist while he waits for an opportunity to sit the Overseas Registration Examinations (ORE). Abel has eight years experience working as a dentist and Senior Dental Officer in his home country. He also holds a Masters degree in Public Health.

When do I need to brush my teeth? How much toothpaste do I use? Where do I floss? These are all important questions for children to learn the answers to.

Moreover, all too often, a child’s first experience at the dentist is when they have an accident or they’re in pain. We want to avoid those negative associations. At SpaDental, we want our young patients to see visits to the dentist as part of their regular health care routine. A trip to the dentist shouldn’t be something to worry about.

Our staff are all experienced with children. They’re used to explaining about teeth and mouth care, in a way that children understand. They’ll help your children learn to take care.

Please note:

Not all SpaDental practices have contracts with the NHS. Our private-only practices offer good value patient plans for parents and children.
