These dental emergencies require care as soon as possible:

• bleeding that won’t stop
• swelling restricting breathing or extending to the eyes
• a knocked out secondary tooth

If you have an urgent dental problem

Urgent dental problems are:

• pain that’s unmanageable
• severe swelling
• a knocked out primary tooth
• a break with dentine exposed
• referral after initial emergency intervention

An uncomfortable or awkward problem?

Sometimes dental problems occur that are not urgent, but you would prefer to get fixed sooner rather than later.

• manageable pain from a broken tooth, a lost filling or an infection;
• concern about a lump or a lesion
• a broken denture or visible restoration

While not urgent, these are the sort of problems the practice will do their best to help you with.
