Patient reviews of the Tewkesbury practice
Our patients were asked:
“How likely are you to recommend our dental practice to your friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment”
Your opinion matters to us! So if you have been treated recently at the Tewkesbury practice and not completed a Friends & Family Form, we would appreciate it if you can take a few moments to review your visit to your Tewkesbury dentist.
Our Tewkesbury Patients Comments
Staff good but having been a customer for some years the place feels down and in need of a good spruce up.
The CEO of spa needs to sit in the reception and look at surrounding. Then sit in the patient’s chair of each surgery. Take a look at the walls and ceilings.
Then ask how can I justify how much I am asking my patients to pay.
Also I get irritated by the default patient health questionnaires give I am a long standing patient and I get 2 questionnaires even with back to back appointments.
Customer experience have gone south since SPA took over.
Usually an excellent practice.
I’ve had to repeatedly chase to get follow up dates for my implant. A call was eventually booked in whilst I was on holiday. I had to chase the call as no one rang me. The implant dentist didn’t even know I had a call booked. I evidently need to see someone to check my implant fits and get a date for surgery. I am still waiting to hear. The practice are normally brilliant with my normal dentist and hygienist. This is a lot of money and this lack of communication is making me lose confidence in the process and procedure. I would like to get the dates fixed in. Soon. Thx.
Deposit for Treatment
Very disappointed that as a patient plan and loyal customer for 30+ years that I am required to give deposit for treatment. Leaves a bad taste in mouth. And lack of trust from Spa Dental. Does not make you feel valued. Think you should review policy.
Good service
I thought the hygenist bill was rather high
See below
The service provided by both clerical and dental staff was to a high standard as expected.
During the week before my appointment I received the usual reminder and a request to provide an update on any medical condition. This I completed and and returned the same day. I then received three further requests for the same information and this has happened to both my wife and myself on previous occasions. This is not under the control of the office at the Tewkesbury practice so clearly there is a failure of communication in your main appointments system.
I look forward to your comments.
Treatment incomplete
The course of treatment is incomplete. Ask again when it is.

Ongoing problem
I am always treated courteously by the dental staff & needed an emergency appt. I do have a concern that the dentist is only available 3 days a wk.
Great treatment too expensive
Everything about my visit and treatment was fine apart from the cost.
It is many years since I have had teeth removed but the £270 charge was a shock.
To be honest I cant remember how much I was originally quoted as it was pre Covid
Friendly and Professional
I had a cracked filling repaired on Monday. Unfortunately, 1/2 my tooth broke off in the evening. 48 hours later, back in the chair again and an effective fix was carried out. All the Team are very friendly and professional. I have been with the Practice for over 20 years. That should be enough recommendation 🙂
Cost of vjsit
I had no discussion on this.
Check up only
Standard treatment
I was treated by a different hygienist who wasn’t quite so skilled as other practitioners but the same result and I was asked some sensible questions.
I went in to both of my appointments early and the service was professional
I was confused why I was asked 3 times before my appointments by email to update my medical records but did not receive a reply when I asked why this was.
At the appointment everything was fine.
Thanks
Does the customer come first?
I get the impression that customer satisfaction is not high on the agenda, but operational procedures are. In days gone by you could book to see the hygienist and dentist on the same day. Now it seems that to cut costs many of the staff are only available one or two days a week, and on most occasions it is not possible to book a double appointment without having to suit the surgery’s options. In fact my daughter has had to change the dentist she sees because the one she has seen before only works on day a week, on the day my daughter can’t make.
It is also very frustrating to receive the same email request to fill out the ‘medical details’ at least 3 times after the first one had been responded to. Head office get it sorted.
I was treated with care
I was told I needed treatment several months ago. An appointment had to be cancelled and I had to wait many weeks for another appointment. I would have hoped to be seen much sooner, particularly as the cancellation was not of my doing.
Great dentist, disappointing Hygienist
I have huge faith in [my dentist] but the hygienist was not at all thorough. The actual cleaning took no time at all and I definitely didn’t get that super clean feeling. It has made me feel reluctant to book the hygienist again. I didn’t catch his name unfortunately. I normally do recommend [my dentist]and am very happy with his treatment
New hygienest
Dentist was brilliant as always. I felt that the hygienest rushed the appointment, did not follow the usual procedure of teeth cleaning. My teeth did not feel any different or cleaner after. I was given contradictory advise compared with previous hygienest. I did not feel that it was worth the cost as it was so rushed and teeth weren’t cleaned properly.
Satisfactory
The hygienist and dentist were great very professional.
Afterwards the computer system let the whole experience down. My dental plan couldn’t be printed therefore the billing was confusing. Not a good experience.
quick emergency
A very simple 5 minute procedure – getting the appointment was much appreciated at short notice; all the staff are nice, competent. However, I felt £30 for 5 minutes was steep. I understand all the Covid protocols but still felt it was a steep price.
