Patient reviews of the Tewkesbury practice
Our patients were asked:
“How likely are you to recommend our dental practice to your friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment”
Your opinion matters to us! So if you have been treated recently at the Tewkesbury practice and not completed a Friends & Family Form, we would appreciate it if you can take a few moments to review your visit to your Tewkesbury dentist.

Some room for improvement
Quality is improving but charging procedure is not transparent and no invoice is provided for work carried out – only a card receipt. This is not satisfactory for multiple treatments.
Good Value ?
I was a little disappointed
At the cost, I have a friend who needed the same treatment about 20 days ago at a cost of £86, I was charged over £70 for an inspection of the tooth the crown came off which must have taken no more than 3-4 minutes which is not good value for money.
In total I paid £160 plus to have the crown put back and was in the practice less than 20 minutes, compared to my friend this does not show value for money.
Lack of dentists
I had to wait a month to get an appointment, during that time I had a tooth break and my denture broke. I then managed to get an emergency denture repair done without an appointment but wham I finally got to see the dentist he didn’t fill the broken tooth, he merely asked me to make another appointment to have it done…..another 3 week wait!!
Pleasant experience
All went to plan. Feel charges should be explained before you attend though and not on request
Hygienist appointment
My treatment was fine but trying to get through to make a booking or make changes is dreadful. I left a a message this week for someone to get back to me and it took 2 days. I today rang to change my daughter’s appointment in Tewkesbury and got through to Ledbury.I was told very rudely I would have to ring again and Tewkesbury would pick up as she couldn’t change the booking even though you have a centralised booking system. I know you can go on line but I was unable to at this time. Reception system needs looking into.
Very good , but!
Ok it’s good service, BUT I can see you are going down the road of getting foreigners in to either help or even do some work!
Don’t go that route , no one wants that, if I pay good money to visit a dentist I expect English people only working on me and if you do a survey, I’m sure others will say the same.
All the other cheap places and nhs can do that but I don’t expect it at a place like yours, last visit, I couldn’t understand them, they couldn’t understand me, I wasn’t sure if they had done what I wanted?? What’s the use of that??, no English only, pay a decent wage and get decent people.
Thankyou -but you missed an opportunity
I was so grateful that you were able to give me an emergency appointment last Saturday. My registered dentist was unable to help me the previous day and I was in so much pain with my abscess that I really couldn’t have waited any longer.
I didn’t complain at the time because I didn’t want to seem ungrateful, but on reflection, to be charged £154 for a short oral examination and x-ray was a little excessive to say the least. I feel you have missed an opportunity here. My wife and I are considering leaving our current dental practice because of their poor service and a more realistic price for my appointment would have made us quite likely to switch to you. Having said all that the treatment you gave me was very good.
Good service, friendly staff but costly
Whilst I appreciate it is difficult to know what treatment is needed it’s only after the treatment/X-rays that you find out how much you are being charged for this. I work in an industry where fees/charges are disclosed upfront and it seems backward to take X-rays etc without telling someone how much additional they are going to pay for this.
Treatment and service excellent
Lovely practice but the web site site is terrible very difficult to navigate to book appointments and very difficult getting through on the phone
First time treatment plan
As a new patient I was very pleased to be treated with exceptionally friendly but professional service. The treatment provided was exceptional.
Good Service
All was good apart from I asked for a breakdown of the costings to show my husband. Asked for it to be sent via e-mail. Still waiting
Emergency appointment
[My dentist] is the best dentist and i wouldnt see anyone else
He is friendly, professional, kind and the best dentist ive ever seen
Treatment excellent
Was very surprised at the overall cost incurred. Only needed a filling replaced which took about 10-12 minutes. This did not require any time on drilling. Also have never been asked for a deposit before treatment. Have been a patient at this practice for over forty years.
Staff have been punctilious and very pleasant.
List of Dental Fees
Could not see a list of charges for dental care in the surgery
Also still waiting for e-mail confirmation for my next appointments

Disappointing that my appointment had been cancelled (wrongly).
It was upsetting to find that my appointment had been cancelled (wrongly) when I arrived. The receptionist had difficulty accepting that I had not had cause to cancel , she could only tell me the time at which a call had been logged. I believe that the name of the caller was misheard. However, the hygienist did seem me a little later than the planned time and I was able to wait at the surgery.
Ok
Ok
Hygienist visit
Happy with overall treatment, but cost of £87 for 15 mins in the chair, I would look to get prices from another couple of different practices for prices, as we are all feeling the inflation pinch.
