If you are a dentist referring a patient to a SpaDental dentist, please read this page before completing our referral form.
SpaDental Referral Acceptance Policy
SpaDental Clinicians with Special Interest, accept referrals for more complex dental treatment from general dental practitioners (GDP’s) and self-referrals from patients seeking specific treatment options. The selected treatment is completed by experienced dentists with a special interest in that particular dental treatment.
Referrals to SpaDental are designed to be simple and stress free, working together with the referring practice to ensure the best treatment outcome for the patient. The initial referral should be made via our website using our on-line referral form.
The dentists are happy to discuss patient needs and treatment options, please contact the practice to arrange this.
On receipt of a referral:
- You will receive an acknowledgement of your referral.
- We will contact the patient as soon as possible to arrange a convenient appointment.
- Confirmation of the appointment will be emailed to the patient. This will include details of the clinic, the dentist they will be seeing, and advise the cost they will need to pay for an assessment appointment.
- An assessment of the patient will be completed, treatment options (and costs) discussed with the patient and then a treatment plan agreed.
- If the patient is not suitable for the treatment we are able to offer, or decides not to proceed, you will be updated.
- Once the procedure is completed you will be advised of the treatment completed and the outcome, and the patient returned to your care.
SpaDental respects the existing relationship between the patient and your clinic and will restrict treatment to that requested in the referral; if additional dental needs are identified during the assessment or throughout the treatment process the patient will be encouraged to return to you for assessment and you will be advised accordingly.
