What is oral pre-medication? How does it help nervous patients?

Many of us feel nervous of going to the dentist. For some of us, this prevents us from seeing the dentist at all, and receiving the treatment we really need. To help anxious patients, dentists sometimes recommend pre-medication with a sedative drug that induces a feeling of relaxation, which will allow you to feel calmer before and during your dental appointment.
What is pre-medication?
For suitable patients, Dentist Aryaan Khalid prescribes a medication called Temazepam. It has a calming effect and will help you to relax while Aryaan repairs your teeth.
Aryaan, our experienced dentist, is able to offer anxious patients oral pre-medication. He uses a medication called Temazepam, which is given in tablet form. It is safe, easy to administer and will invoke a deep feeling of calm and relaxation, keeping you comfortable throughout the procedure, whilst you remain conscious and able to communicate with the dentist.
Temazepam works quickly and effectively, but does take some time to wear off, so you will need someone to escort you to and from your appointment, and stay with you while you recover.
Oral pre-medication is not suitable for everyone. When discussing your options with Aryaan, he will determine if you have any conditions, or take any medication, that would prevent you from being able to take Temazepam.

Talk with your dentist
Dentists know that nervous patients often avoid booking dental appointments.
